Landfall habits
The opening teaches escape and a wrecked beach. Scan flat land for farms and docks before you carpet cliffs with tents.
Place the first Pirate Camp so tents and early production sit inside its radius. Camps that barely touch each other create odd upkeep puzzles later.
Food before vanity builds
Connect food producers to a Galley on a short path. Watching stew pile up at a dead end cliff while pirates starve is a classic first wipe.
Hover the resource bar. If production sits under consumption, pause fancy buildings and fix the loop.
Planks and warehouses
Wood to sawmill to warehouse is your second heartbeat. Fetchers only help if connections exist and routes stay green or yellow.
Keep some drifters free. Full assignment looks productive until nothing new can be built.
Deeds and the Compass
Open the journal. Claim finished Deeds for Principle Points on Notoriety, Empire, Seafaring, or Wealth.
Spend early points on logistics such as ziplines instead of racing every ship node at once.
Pier and first voyage
When the story asks for a ship, stock planks, rope if needed, and crew food. Assign a captain if offered.
Compare event icons to hull ratings. A proud Landlubber still loses to targets that outstat it.
FAQ
Housing, a short food loop, then plank production with a warehouse hub. Logistics unlocks come next.
