How to get more drifters
Need more bodies on Skull Rock? Drifters arrive when camps can house them, food can feed them, and story or map events send new pirates to your cove.

What drifters are
Drifters are unassigned pirates. They become builders when you place structures and fetchers when routes need haulers. If every pirate is locked into a job, construction stalls.
Getting more drifters means growing population and leaving a reserve free, not only hiring everyone into production.
How to get more drifters step by step
Expand Pirate Camp housing before you spam new workshops. Empty beds invite arrivals. Overcrowded camps stall growth.
Keep food and drink inside camp range. Hungry camps stop attracting or keeping people even when tents exist.
Accept refugee or story arrivals only when Cohesion and stew can absorb them. A big influx without food crashes the meter.
Finish early Deeds that unlock logistics. Faster cargo means fewer fetchers per route, which frees drifters for building.
After map voyages, check for crew or salvage events that return people to the island. Bring food stores so they stay.
Mistakes that block new drifters
Assigning every pirate to a job leaves zero builders, so camps and beds never expand.
Long red zipline routes soak fetchers forever and starve the free labor pool.
Ignoring Cohesion while stacking arrivals creates a death spiral that feels like a population bug.
